Centre Information

Holmescarr Community Enterprise Centre is established in a former junior school which lay dormant for 6 years prior to 2007 when it was resurrected by Rossington Development Trust (RDT). Occupancy first took place in September 2007.

The prupose and aims of the refurbishment was to -

  • Develop a valuable community asset from its present state of dereliction to a sustainable community development,
  • Secure jobs and community group opportunities,
  • Develop people's skills and abilities to operate community groups in a competitive market enviroment,
  • Give assistance to the long term unemployed with opportunities to gain basic skills required for employment,
  • Provide a centre for community regeneration and information,
  • Ensure the community capacity building continues to grow within a community asset that will bring sustainability.
